Wicked good flats adventure with clear water tactics near Topsfield!
What a day on the water! Soundarya and I headed out for a spring afternoon session around 3:00 pm, dealing with some morning rain that cleared to partly cloudy skies. The conditions were wicked good for what we had planned on the flats around Topsfield.
Once we found the right spot, we focused on sight fishing and fly fishing with some light tackle casting mixed in. We didn't stick a trophy on this run, but every cast and minute on the water was worth it. The flats fishing in Topsfield is perfect for these techniques because of the clear water and structure that holds fish. Lines tight all afternoon, and we wrapped up with great memories and solid time on the water!
